About the role
We are looking for post registration of experienced nurses with a special interest in women's health and emergency gynaecology. As a registered Nurse you must be live on the relevant UK adult nursing NMC register. You will be responsible for supporting your nursing colleagues and Manager in ensuring that our service users’ needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care. As a centre of excellence, you will offer a person‑centred approach to their independence and well‑being.
Key responsibilities
* Support patients undergoing emergency procedures, elective management and caring for families experiencing bereavement.
* Facilitate the daily routine of a busy surgical ward and provide full support to our multi‑disciplinary team.
* Maintain a high standard of clinical work when carrying out healthcare duties and ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework.
* Motivate colleagues, champion service user safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement.
* Provide venepuncture and cannulation where required.
Qualifications and experience
* Registered Nurse on the UK adult nursing NMC register.
* Experience (or willingness to train) in venepuncture and cannulation.
* Excellent communication and inter‑personal skills.
* Empathetic to the emotional needs of women and families attending A23.
* Previous experience within gynaecology and early pregnancy is desirable but not essential.
Working conditions
A23 is a 16‑bed emergency/elective inpatient ward with a clinical triage and outpatient/day case management area, providing 24/7, 7 days per week service. Mixed shifts will be required – days and nights. Full and part‑time hours are available.
