Main duties of the job
1. Responsible for the support and delivery of local and national clinical audits within the Cardiothoracic Services Directorates (Cardiothoracic Surgery, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia)
2. Providing data analysis and reporting on collected audit data for internal and external requests by management and clinicians in line with the Trust Information policy
3. Support the Service Manager in the delivery of the governance agenda within the Cardiothoracic Services Directorate
4. Support the Service Manager and clinicians by providing data on performance, activity and outcomes for appropriate regular or ad hoc internal or external information requests
5. Lead the Cardiothoracic Audit Team to ensure excellence in audit support for the Cardiothoracic Services Directorate
6. Provide team management for members of the Cardiothoracic Audit Team alongside the Cardiothoracic Audit Lead Nurse

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Essential criteria
11. Good Microsoft Office skills including Microsoft access skills
12. Basic data analysis experience
13. Leadership skills to manage team relationships and manage team priorities.
14. Previous experience in service improvement in NHS
15. Experience with Cardiothoracic national audit data
16. Data analysis skills in order to report on complex clinical data
Desirable criteria
17. Advanced Microsoft Office skills
18. NHS experience at management level
19. Experience with mortality monitoring in healthcare
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
20. First degree or equivalent
21. Data analysis training
22. Knowledge of basic statistical methods
23. Professional qualification in health care
Desirable criteria
24. Masters degree (Health related)
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
25. Previous experience with data analysis
26. Previous NHS experience
27. Cardiothoracic audit experience
