What You’ll Do
As an HV Cable Jointer, you’ll:
* Carry out cable preparation, installation, terminations and joints at 11kV, 33kV, and above on renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects
* Support electricians and other trades on larger installations, including earthing and associated site activities
* Take responsibility as Installation Lead on relevant projects, reporting into the Site Manager and Project Manager on progress and safe delivery
* Assist SAPs and Commissioning Engineers with cable testing, commissioning and energisation activities during project delivery
* Mentor less experienced staff and apprentices, helping develop their skills while maintaining high standards of workmanship and tidiness
* Champion Powersystems’ 5 P’s of Priority No.1 Health, Safety and Wellbeing, Pride, Professionalism, Partnership, and Proactive
What We’re Looking For – Cable Jointing / HV Installation
* JIB approved ECS card and experience working safely on construction sites
* Strong practical experience in cable preparation, installation, containment, earthing and associated HV site works
* Experience of carrying out cable terminations / joints at 33kV within the electrical power, commercial or industrial sector
* Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Jointer with a clear understanding of site standards and safe systems of work
* Able to plan ahead, follow business processes and manage multiple time-pressured tasks while maintaining quality and tidiness
* Strong communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, team-focused approach to problem solving on site
* Full UK driving licence, Right to Work in the UK, and flexibility to travel and stay away regularly for project work
