About the Role The role includes onboarding new clients under the supervision and direction of the Team Leader and Compliance Business Partner in relation to MCS (Cayman and BVI) businesses and ensure that the Maples Group is at all times compliant with the provisions of relevant financial services legislation in the Cayman Islands and BVI. The primary responsibilities for the Compliance Analyst for the New Business Team include, but are not limited to: • Process queries received from lawyers, clients and/or the Global Compliance Team, including monitoring requests received in the KYC mailboxes, for the onboarding of new clients and matters • Establish strong communication lines with lawyers and relevant staff in order to ensure that Know Your Customer (“KYC”) requests are dealt with efficiently and professionally • Review applicants for business and new clients in order to evaluate KYC requirements, understand the nature of business and identify any high risk areas • Obtain appropriate KYC documentation for applicants for business and clients • Ensure that Enhanced Due Diligence procedures are followed wherever high risk triggers are identified, escalating the matter to a SCA or the Compliance Officer (“CO”) as required • Ensure that applicants for business, clients and related compliance parties are entered into internal databases as required and that KYC approvals are accurately applied • Ensure that KYC documentation is approved and stored in accordance with internal policies • Ensure that non-compliant clients are identified and reported to the SCA or CO, and that steps are taken to remediate outstanding KYC information in a timely manner • Support ad hoc requests and projects as may be required from time to time What You Bring In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following: • 3 or more years of experience, working in legal services or professional services • An advanced understanding of KYC and AML regulatory obligations • Candidate must show strong attention to detail • Be comfortable working with time constraints and deadlines • Be able to work with minimal supervision • Be an effective communicator and confident in client interaction • Strong organisational skills • Bright, enthusiastic and quick learner • Proactive and solutions driven • Strong team player • Enthusiastic and committed to pursuing a career in compliance • Knowledge of offshore jurisdictions (Cayman and BVI) BENEFITS & REWARDS The most enduring professional relationships are reciprocal relationships.
