The Role
Norton Motorcycles is looking for a Quality Engineer (Electrical/Electronics) on a permanent, full-time basis, with experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Automotive industries. You will be an enthusiastic, hands-on quality professional who leads by example to instill a mindset of Quality First within an OEM, working on new product ranges.
Duties/Responsibilities
* Support the NPD Quality Manager in defining, developing and executing the Quality deliverables as part of the NPD process
* Develop product inspection processes during pre-production builds and prepare for handover to the current vehicle Quality team
* Deliver product inspection standards in line with timings set out in the NPD process
* Collaborate cross-functionally to support DFMEA, PFMEA, design reviews, control plans, DFMs and other key NPD processes
* Support the development and planning of product and part level testing for electrical/electronic architecture
* Liaise with the Supplier Quality team for the delivery of supplier PPAP
* Lead and manage issues identified during build and test phases to drive resolutions in Norton’s problem resolution system
* Liaise with the Supplier Quality team on development part related issues identified during pre-production builds
Personal Specification
* Knowledge of electrical/electronic architecture (Automotive)
* Understanding of part level and product specifications including CAN and LIN communications
* Understanding of electrical test cases and test plans
* Ability to interpret electrical test reports
* Electrical engineering experience is preferred
* Understanding of electrical requirements and technical drawings
* Knowledge of international standards is beneficial
* Experience in root cause analysis and problem solving techniques
* Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
* Self-sufficient with good organisational skills
