Job Title: Mobile Plant Machinery Engineer
Location: West Knighton, Dorset, DT2 8PE
Pay: Very Competitive Rates (commensurate with experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday (45 hours per week) with occasional Saturday mornings
About the Role
G Crook & Sons are looking to recruit an experienced Mobile Plant Machinery Engineer to support our expanding operations. With a hire fleet of over 500 machines — from mini excavators to 35-tonne excavators, dumpers, dozers, screeners, and crushers — this is a hands-on and varied role working both on-site and at customer locations.
You will be provided with a fully equipped modern van, allowing you to carry out maintenance and repairs efficiently in the field.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance and repair of plant machinery safely and efficiently
* Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and health & safety compliance
* Complete all paperwork and service records accurately
* Use appropriate PPE at all times
* Communicate effectively with Transport and Workshop Managers
Requirements
* Proven hands-on experience in plant machinery maintenance and repair (essential)
* Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) preferred but not essential
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong understanding of health & safety procedures
* Own comprehensive tool kit (essential)
* Full UK driving licence
Please note: This is a physically demanding, hands-on role. Candidates without practical experience or their own tools are unlikely to be considered.
