We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a passion for patient safety, risk management, adverse event investigation, resilience and clinical governance to join the Clinical Governance and Risk Team as Risk Management Support Officer at NHS Shetland.
This post provides an exciting opportunity to provide support to the work carried out within the Clinical Governance and Risk Department and in delivering on the aims and objectives of the organisation in relation to quality, safety and risk.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and facilitating risk management activities throughout NHS Shetland and health services delivered in Shetland CHSCP.
You will either be educated to degree level with a qualification in Risk Management or you will have experience of working in the NHS and possess an in-depth knowledge of NHS risk management principles and systems. The postholder will act as the key point of contact for Risk Management, working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders you will embed professional, robust and consistent Risk Management systems and processes in line with the Board’s Risk Management Strategy.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to join the organisation at a time to help shape the future development of Risk Management and Assurance across the organisation, as it moves forward with the implementation of InPhase Risk Management system in 2026.
The successful applicant should have good knowledge of Clinical Governance and Risk Management; possess excellent verbal, negotiation and written communication skills and have a proven ability to implement change to systems and processes. As well as being able to prioritise your own workload, working effectively as a team member is essential. A knowledge of quality assurance, quality improvement, presenting skills and facilitation technique is desirable.
