The role involves providing emergency social work services (statutory & non-statutory) for adults and children at risk of significant harm, addressing a variety of social care emergencies, including child protection, adult safeguarding, homelessness, and complex mental health assessments where delay until the next working day would be detrimental. The EDT team operates outside of regular office hours, ensuring coverage from 17:00 to 09:00 on weekdays and 24 hours a day on weekends and bank holidays. This position requires a Social Work and AMHP qualification, substantial post-qualification experience, and registration with Social Work England. Key skills include managing competing priorities, personal resilience, sound decision-making, and excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
