The Role: As an Associate Planner, you will work on a wide portfolio of projects across the residential, commercial and health-care sectors. You will support the preparation and submission of planning applications, engage with local planning authorities, prepare planning statements and reports, advise on planning strategy and policy, and guide clients through the planning process from inception to delivery. Key Responsibilities: Lead and contribute to planning applications (including full, outline, reserved matters) for residential, commercial and health-care developments. Advise clients on planning strategy, policy interpretation, risk and opportunities. Engage with local authorities, statutory consultees and stakeholders to advance scheme progress. Prepare planning statements, representations, appeals and other supporting documentation. Work closely with technical specialists (e.g., architects, engineers, environmental consultants) to ensure fully integrated submissions. Support business development activities and client relationships as the consultancy continues to grow. Essential Skills & Experience: A planning qualification and membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or equivalent. Proven experience (typically 5–10 years) in private-sector town planning consultancy or development industry. Strong experience in residential, commercial or health-care planning projects and working with multiple local authorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to present complex planning matters clearly and confidently. Organised, proactive and commercially aware, able to work both independently and as part of a team. What’s On Offer: Competitive salary circa £45,000–£55,000, reflecting experience and expertise.
