Grade D £28,163 - £30,060 per annum (pending pay award in November 2025 - 3.2%) 37 hours per week Tewkesbury Borough Council is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Technical Officer to join its award winning Planning Service. This role is central to ensuring that planning applications are accurately validated in line with national legislation and the council’s local requirements, enabling timely and lawful decision-making. As the first point of contact for applicants, agents, and members of the public, the postholder will provide clear advice on submission standards and straightforward planning queries, including permitted development. The role also supports Planning Officers by managing the technical and administrative aspects of the application process, including site visits to display notices and carry out routine inspections. Working across a borough that includes historic market towns, rural villages, and strategic development sites, the Technical Officer will help maintain high standards of service delivery, data accuracy, and customer care—contributing to the council’s wider goals of sustainable growth, community engagement, and planning excellence.
