Description In this role, you will provide day-to-day support on a dynamic Trade Support & Settlements Desk, covering a wide range of products including equities, fixed income, international, and collective investments. This is a varied and fast-paced position that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. You will be responsible for all post-trade aspects of the trade life cycle, including booking, checking, and ensuring timely settlement of trades. Collaboration is key and you’ll work closely with the dealing desk, internal teams, custodians, and external counter parties. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving will help you succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities Take a proactive approach to resolving issues and identifying process improvements. Pre-confirm trades with counter parties across equities, fixed income, international, and collective securities. Accurately book trades into the order management system with correct settlement instructions (SSIs). Perform Crest, foreign, and UTM checks on internal systems. Review daily trade files from custodians to ensure all trades are matched and address discrepancies promptly. Investigate and resolve failed trades, non-receipts, and interest claims. Liaise with counterparties and custodians to ensure timely trade completion and settlement. Follow up with Unit Trust Managers for outstanding contract notes. Use EMX and Calastone STP systems to generate contract notes for trades placed. Process amendments, depot moves, and FX bookings as required. Handle fund manager trade queries, rejections, and cancellation requests. Maintain accurate SSIs, account numbers, and static templates. Complete fund application forms where necessary and make payments for trades requiring pre-funding. Communicate with Wealth Managers regarding overdrawn accounts. Provide technical advice and assist with complex problem resolution, including client complaints or compensation claims. Monitor group email inbox and respond to queries within agreed service levels. Maintain accurate controls and records as instructed by the Team Leader. Review and update departmental procedure manuals regularly. Stay informed on regulatory and industry developments through reading and attending relevant seminars. Keep the Team Leader updated on any issues that could impact SLA timelines. Build and maintain knowledge of clients’ operating environments. Assist with compiling monthly management information statistics. Support the Team Leader on client initiatives, ad hoc projects, and other duties as assigned. Skills & Experience Previous experience in trade support or settlements within an investment environment. Understanding of Crest, collectives, and major international markets. Knowledge of FX and STP trading systems is advantageous. Familiarity with Pershing (UK) operations, systems, and policies is a plus. Strong working knowledge of retail financial services, investment management, and brokerage operations desirable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel. Financial qualifications or exams are advantageous.
