This Front Office position combines data interpretation with financial decision-making, giving you direct exposure to trading strategy and portfolio optimisation.The role sits at the intersection of data analysis and trading, where you'll convert complex data sets into practical insights, contribute to algorithmic trading approaches, and support revenue generation in a fast-moving market environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPartner with automated trading systems to deliver real-time insights and assist with portfolio optimisationAnalyse market trends and data to uncover trading opportunities and improve short-term power trading performancePrepare and deliver reports on trading activity, market developments, and revenue improvement opportunitiesTurn complex analytical outputs into clear, commercially relevant insights for a range of stakeholdersWork closely with data and engineering teams to enhance trading algorithms and modelling approachesTrack portfolio performance and take proactive steps to improve outcomesAssist in managing collateral requirements across trading operationsEvaluate market conditions and share key findings with the wider trading teamSupport the accurate and timely execution of daily trading activitiesAbout YouEssential:Degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or Data AnalyticsStrong quantitative and analytical skillsAt least 3 years experience in the GB energy marketHands-on experience with short-term power trading in Great BritainGenuine interest in energy markets, trading, and revenue optimisationProven ability to create reports and communicate data-driven insightsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and commercial audiencesHighly motivated, detail-focused, and comfortable working in a dynamic environmentDesirable:Experience working in data-led, product-focused, or engineering-driven teamsExposure to Virtual Power Plants (VPPs)Familiarity with trading platforms and analytical tools such as Python or SQLWorking ArrangementsHybrid setup: at least 3 days per week in the Belfast office, with Tuesday as a core in-office dayWhy Apply?This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing, energy trading business.
