Location: Rosevale Lodge Care Home, Lisburn area. The home offers specialist care for up to 68 residents living with dementia and is arranged in two dedicated units: Dementia Nursing and Dementia Residential.

The Role
The Senior Care Assistant role is part of a dedicated team essential to the daily operations of the Home. In our Residential Homes and units, this is a leadership role, working closely with the care team to lead on shifts and manage medication. Senior Care Assistants provide high-quality care and support to residents in a warm and safe environment, offering leadership, guidance and hands-on assistance to ensure personalised care that meets individual needs and preferences. The role also involves providing emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and advocating for the rights and preferences of residents.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences.
* Observe and monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
* Monitor and allocate the work for care assistants.
* Develop and maintain professional relationships with residents, colleagues and visitors; respond promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.
* Take responsibility for the administration and management of medication, medication audits and storage in line with regulatory requirements.
* Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria
* Medications experience within care setting
* The Right to Work in the UK
* Educated to a minimum GCSE/NVQ 3 or above (or similar qualification) with a good standard of English
* Previous Care Experience

* Experience supervising staff
