Job title: Driver's Mate - Immediate start
Location: Doncaster, DN3
Salary: £12.72 per hour, overtime £19.08 per hour after 208 hours worked per month
Contract type: Permanent, Full-time
Start time: between 03:00AM - 07:00AM
Shift duration: 10 - 12 hours, 9 hrs guaranteed pay
Hours: 4 on 2 off, 4 on 2 off, 5 on 2 off - weekends included and compulsory!
We’re hiring Driver’s Mates to join our client busy delivery team. This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Home Delivery Driver’s Mate for a National Delivery Company.
You’ll be helping our drivers load, unload and deliver home furniture safely to customer with some installations - no two days are the same.
What You’ll Do
* Deliver home furniture to customer premises ensuring care and professionalism, with some installations as well as removal of rubbish, working as a 2 man crew assisted by a driver’s mate
* Assist the driver with loading and unloading home furniture from the vehicle and deliver to customer room of choice
* Secure loads to prevent damage during transport
* Help navigate and direct the driver as required
* Scan items and make pre calls to customers
* Complete delivery paperwork and obtain signatures
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the vehicle
* Follow all health & safety guidelines and manual handling procedures
Skills and Requirements
* Good level of physical fitness - able to lift and carry heavy items as you’ll deliver home furniture
* Minimum 1-year recent Driver’s Mate experience
* Must be ok with lifting and handball as role is physical
* Excellent teamwork skills and ability to follow instructions
* Strong communications skills for customer interaction
* Experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential - full training will be provided
* Must be able to read and write to intermediate level
