SEND Teaching Assistant 

A specialist school in Swindon is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to start ASAP until the end of the academic year on a fixed term contract. Pay rate is £104 to £115 per day. 

This school aims to give their students an education that enables them to live a happy life. The needs of the students include moderate learning difficulties, and severe learning difficulty, with their ages ranging from 4 to 19. The school values learning and wants their students to take their education through all aspects of their lives. They utilise small classes and a differentiated curriculum to make the most of each student's potential. 

The leadership team wants to ensure that each member of their community has the knowledge and skills to successfully carry out their roles. Someone who has a carrying nature, adaptable approach and a passion for helping each child would be essential in ensuring their potential is met. A successful TA would have a variety of skills that can be applied for supporting a child with SEN needs.

Role Requirements

• Experience working in a similar role
• Communication Skills: The ability to effectively communicate with individuals with PMLD and interpret their responses and intentions
• Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrating understanding and compassion towards people with PMLD
• Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of a person with PMLD
• Possession of enhanced DBS certificate, or willingness to complete one
