Our client is looking for a strategic and analytical Head of Procurement Strategy to lead the development and implementation of advanced procurement practices. This role operates on a hybrid model, offering a blend of remote flexibility and collaborative office-based work. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving cost savings, mitigating supply chain risks, and fostering strong supplier relationships across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
* Lead market analysis and category management initiatives to identify sourcing opportunities and optimize spending.
* Establish and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for the procurement function, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
* Negotiate complex contracts with key suppliers, ensuring favourable terms, pricing, and service levels.
* Develop and implement robust risk management strategies for the supply chain, identifying potential disruptions and mitigating their impact.
* Foster and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments.
* Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
* Stay abreast of market trends, new technologies, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
* Oversee the implementation of procurement systems and tools to enhance efficiency and data visibility.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CIPS certification is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful strategies.
* Strong understanding of various procurement methodologies, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
* Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
* Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in developing and managing supply chain risk mitigation plans.
* Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing independent work with collaborative team efforts.
