Job Description
As a Commis Chef, you will have a passion for delivering exceptional food to our guests. You will develop your skills across all areas of the kitchen, from food preparation to cooking and presenting. With a desire to learn, you will work closely with all members of the kitchen team to execute all menu items to a high standard and maintain cleanliness at all times.
* Ensure compliance with food safety laws and procedures
* Understand and implement safer food business protocols and HACCP policies, including food labelling, cleaning schedules, and allergen tracking
* Food Preparation: preparing fresh ingredients for menu items, including fruits, vegetables, stocks, etc., using correct techniques to minimize wastage
* Organizing and Cleaning: accepting deliveries, ensuring correct stock placement and rotation, labelling produce, and working as a team to complete cleaning tasks to a high standard. Assisting as a Kitchen Porter as required
* Ensuring proper presentation of menu items
* Learning dish specifications, presenting starters, desserts, and sides under the supervision of the lead chef
Qualifications
* Experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential
* A willingness to learn culinary techniques
* Ability to follow directions
* Organizational skills to manage your own time
This is a casual hours position involving shifts from 06:00 to 23:00, including weekends and bank holidays. Hours may vary week to week, with some weeks possibly offering no hours.
