We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our passionate and supportive team at a specialist school in Newcastle, catering to pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, sensory impairments, and medical conditions. About the Role As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, both in and out of the classroom. Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored learning plans. Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners. Assist with personal care and sensory regulation routines, where required. Be a positive role model, helping pupils build confidence, independence, and social skills. About You We’re looking for someone who: Has experience working with children or young people with SEND (preferred but not essential). Is calm, patient, and able to respond to challenging situations with empathy and professionalism. Has strong communication and teamwork skills. Is flexible, proactive, and willing to learn.
