Modality Partnership Walsall Division has a full-time vacancy for a Practice Manager based at Pleck Health Centre. The postholder will be a high performing Practice Manager working across the Modality Walsall Division providing strategic and operational management as part of the Senior Leadership Team. We are seeking dedicated postholders to join our team and who can display our CARE values: Commitment, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Salary for role this role £27,500-£29,000 per annum WTE.

Main duties of the job
The role is an all-rounded, hands-on management and operational role; the postholder will need to confidently be responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice, all staff and team leaders, provide first point of contact for all premises issues and escalate as per procedure to utilise key skills such as effective communication, stakeholder management, operations management, and the ability to manage and prioritise the implementation of projects across the Division and the wider organisation. Working with partners on the delivery of national and local performance and quality standards within the practice, in particular those required by CQC, ICB and NHSE and support the partners and practice team at all times. To be responsible for Health and Safety within the practice and collaboratively with other Managers and practice teams

Job description

* To be responsible for the day to day management of the practice, all staff and team leaders.
* To provide first point of contact for all premises issues and escalate as per procedure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The post holder will:
* Agree with other members of the team the development of the policies, standards and guidelines and ensure these will be accepted as best practice and applied by everyone to ensure high quality service provision and profitable outcomes.
* Ensure audit processes are efficient and effective – providing appropriate data for service development and financial reporting.
* Understand and participate in all operational matters, supporting the team in the challenges of the dayto day execution of their duties.
* Oversee the administration of Quality & Outcomes Framework, ensuring the cooperative working between GPs, Practice Nurses and Administrators, for timely and accurate outcomes.
* Analyse opportunities offered by Enhanced Services, specifically benefits for patients and cost effectiveness. Make sound recommendations to GPs.
* Ensure the practice complies with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations / standards.
* Maintain medico-legal requirements.
* Ensure the partners and other members of the team are able to access all appropriate information, and are confident in managing operational issues.
* Regularly identify the external issues that may affect the practice/division and use these to contribute to practice strategy.
* Work with all team members to develop clear aims and objectives for teams and individuals to ensure successful business planning.
* Oversee the successful implementation of the aims and objectives.
* Monitor and evaluate performance of the practice team against objectives.
* Manage change with sensitivity and determination. Develop and maintain effective communication both within the practice and with relevant outside agencies
Staff Management:
* Lead and manage staff by demonstrating enthusiasm for excellent service provision.
* Motivate and encourage colleagues to work efficiently and effectively.
* Develop, support and maintain a highly motivated management team.
* Manage the recruitment and retention of staff.
* Ensure that all staff are legally and gainfully employed.
* Continually monitor skill-mix and deployment of staff in partnership with team leaders.
Financial Management:
* In conjunction with the central finance team monitor and reconcile incoming financial expenditure.
* Record and bank monies promptly and manage the petty cash account.
* Advise partners of financial opportunities through strategic development.
* Seek to maximise private income as appropriate.
* Work to maximise with the finance team NHS income through efficient exploitation of QoF / Enhanced.
* Services or any additional systems introduced in the future.
* Ensure the partners (and other designated team members) are able to access all appropriate information, and are confident in the basic management of financial affairs.
* Any other budgetary/financial requirements in conjunction with the finance team and Partners that support the effective financial management of the practice.

Person Specification: What are the minimum requirements all candidates need to meet?
Qualifications and Experience: We require high performing team members to join our team with:
Knowledge:
* Qualifications to an NVQ Level 4/5 and/or equivalent experience as a manager or Senior
* Supervisor in a GP surgery
* Understanding of how the role relates to the wider healthcare team
* Proficient in key Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Proficient in the use of clinical IT systems
* Knowledge of and experience in performance management, recruitment, sickness absence management and implementation of key managerial policies/procedures in relation to staff.
* Understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations and how they would apply to a primary car setting
Skills:
* Aware of the importance of innovation in healthcare.
* Demonstrates effective communication both written and verbally
* Demonstrates clear understanding of HR legislation that applies to their own area of work
