Qualifications

* Chartered engineer with relevant technical degree.
* Track record of engineering technical leadership.
* Significant experience in development and delivery of feasibility and outline design treatment solutions within the UK water sector.
* Aptitude for innovation and driving efficiency.
* Experience in mentoring people and teams.
* Ability to support bids, fee proposals or offers of service.
* Strong communication skills with experience in effective collaboration across internal multidisciplinary teams as well as client teams.
* The ability to travel on a regular basis to Thames Water offices.


Desirable

* Strong commercial awareness, delivering cost‑effective solutions within time and cost constraints.
* Understanding of key water sector treatment and sustainability needs.
* Understanding of drivers for water and wastewater treatment investment in England and Wales.
* Excellent technical report writing skills using concise English.


Overview of the role

Having been appointed to Thames Water consultancy framework, we are looking for an Engineer Manager to lead the delivery of our non‑infrastructure programme of works. You would build on the good work done in establishing our framework and work with our technical discipline leads to ensure that our technical delivery performance meets the expectations of both our clients and our internal focus on technical excellence.


Responsibilities

* Ensure the right structure and people are in place to meet the technical demands.
* Ensure the right systems and processes deliver project outcomes in line with client and framework delivery processes, our internal business management system and our governance processes.
* Drive a culture which innovates, challenges the norm and constantly seeks better and more efficient ways of delivering the solutions our clients need.
* Maintain a detailed understanding of the client’s business plan objectives and consequent technical challenges and continuously engage with the client to maintain this understanding.
