Project Engineer - Defence Programs (Engines) - Shrewsbury - 12 month Contract
We're seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join a high-performing team in Shrewsbury, working on defence engine integration programs. This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role with a strong mix of system integration, validation, and vehicle-level problem-solving responsibilities.
You will play a key role in ensuring that engines are appropriately specified, integrated, and supported for defence vehicle applications.
Key Responsibilities
Engine Integration (75%)
o Interface with military and defence clients to understand application and electrical requirements.
o Support the integration of engines into defence vehicle platforms.
o Ensure that products meet military space constraints and operational expectations.
* Provide ongoing customer support for engine-related queries or issues.
Validation & Verification (25%)
* Source components and create test setups for product evaluation.
* Perform testing and document findings.
* Deliver concise reviews and recommendations on product suitability
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Haves:
* 2-5 years of relevant engineering experience (Automotive, Off-Highway, or HGV Design preferred).
* Degree in Engineering
* Proven problem-solving capabilities.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong teamwork orientation.

Location: Shrewsbury (Fully Onsite)
Contract Length: 12 months (Possible extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 08:00-16:45, Fri 08:00-12:30
Pay Rates:
* PAYE: £32.35/hour
* Umbrella: £42.57/hour
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
