You will have completed a degree in construction, engineering, or quantity surveying; and at least 3 to 5 years post qualification experience in law, construction, engineering and/or procurement. To be successful in this role, you will have: A strong academic background in a construction/legal related field. An excellent track record in your primary discipline with supporting references. A sound commercial knowledge and keen interest in the legal aspects of the construction industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills. An ability to work both independently and as part of a team. An ability to meet deadlines efficiently and to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at every stage; and A strong desire to develop a career with an ambitious firm. In addition to the above, the following attributes would be advantageous: Articulate and self-assured when dealing with clients. Enjoy working as part of a close-knit team. High level of interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills. Experience delivering multiple projects to strict deadlines. Experience in successfully winning new clients through business development activity. An excellent track record in their primary discipline with support references. A strong academic background in a relevant discipline. Detailed knowledge of the commercial, legal and policy aspects of the construction industry and/or public procurement. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A willingness to work throughout Ireland and the UK including periods supporting the companies Belfast, London and Maidstone offices on short notice. The role of an Associate will consist of: Confidently engaging with clients, on the phone and at face-to-face meetings. Completing work for clients to a high quality, in a timely manner. Confidently handling a range of construction and procurement law matters, providing sound advice to clients. Producing letters, legal documents, tender documentation and contracts to a high standard. Delivering seminars on construction law and procurement topics. Designing and delivering formal ‘in-house’ training for clients. Dealing with negotiation and opposition representation.
