We are seeking people to join our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) apprenticeship in Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies. You should be compassionate, work well in a team, enthusiastic, highly motivated and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have some experience in a mental health setting and have supported or experienced mental health challenges.
Responsibilities
 * Deliver evidence‑based psychological therapies via telephone, online, digital platforms or face‑to‑face, both individually and in groups.
 * Engage in weekly case‑management supervision, clinical skills supervision and training.
 * Complete the learning required within the programme, attending all protected learning days and in‑service training as required.
 * Commit to the programme’s strict attendance requirements (100% attendance). Annual leave cannot be taken on programme days.
Apprenticeship programme
The apprenticeship is approximately 15 months in duration, delivered by Oxford Health Apprenticeship & Development Centre. The programme will run from April 2026 to April 2027.
 * During Module 1: 3 days a week in Oxford for apprenticeship teaching days plus 2 days at your allocated office base in Buckinghamshire.
 * After Module 1: 1 day of protected learning and four days of in‑service training per week, with one home‑working day available after completion of the course.
 * Training is delivered through close collaboration between employers and education providers.

Payment and contract
Band 4 – £27,485 to £30,162 per annum (pro‑rata). Permanent, full‑time contract. Working pattern: full‑time.

Person Specification – Essential
 1. English language requirement – UK GCSE, Functional Skills or equivalent
 2. Experience of supporting people with mental health problems – via clinical roles or transferable skills
 3. Ability to manage risk situations – evidence of short‑term or longer‑term solutions learned or applied
 4. Discretion – ability to confidentially keep information safe
 5. Ability to influence and work within a community for positive impact on wellbeing
 6. Travel: willing to commute to your selected office base and the apprenticeship site in Oxford
 7. Residency: UK resident for at least three years before apprenticeship start (excluding full‑time study periods)
