Our Company
Impact Travel Group creates life-defining journeys with real consequence. Trips where people truly immerse themselves, contribute to something bigger, and return changed for the better.
Over 25+ years, we've built the partnerships, programmes and on-the-ground capability to make that transformation real; both for our travellers and for the places and communities that welcome them.
Our goal is simple: create travel that makes us better. A world where every journey develops understanding, sparks kindness and strengthens connection. We are raising the bar for people and planet.
Brands you may recognise as being part of the Impact Travel Group include Camps International, Raleigh International, African Impact, Kaya and World Endeavors.
The Role:
ITG's most powerful response to the climate crisis will come through the education of the young people who travel with us. Further, in all aspects of our work we must endeavour to minimise negative climate impacts and to harness the positive impacts inherent in the projects we are doing across the globe. The Head of Impact's role is to develop a coherent strategy for these two concomitant elements of our company activities, ensuring the group moves rapidly toward its net zero target, enhances its product offering through rigorous academic content and maximizes the commercial potential of its educational focus.
Education:
Bring together group-wide initiatives to enhance and promote the positive impacts that our programmes have on the lives of the young people who travel with us.
Develop a coherent plan for group-wide educational content, linked to conservation, sustainability and climate action.
Develop a set of internship programmes of varying lengths for ITG's global offering to universities.
Develop the established Real World Studies programme, taking forward what already exists to broaden its reach, ensure its relevance to on-going project work and consider methods of monetization.
Develop the existing Responsible Traveller Training programme and broaden its use.
Consider, in all of the above, the variations required for the markets around the world in which ITG is actively working.
Climate action:
Refine and develop already existing calculations of group carbon emissions.
Promote carbon positive projects across the globe.
Support the development of new products, informed by feedback and relevant trends.
Record carbon positive global project activities.
Develop plans for the reduction of group carbon emissions.
Monitor steps taken to reduce carbon emissions.
Manage group compliance with external validation bodies.
Generate reports on the current situation and the progress towards established targets.
Drive the group toward net zero status.
