This role is crucial in promoting positive relationships and ensuring every child has the best possible chance to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Work as a key point of contact for families, providing a confidential and supportive service.
* Address barriers to learning by offering practical advice and support on matters like attendance, behaviour, and social-emotional needs.
* Serve as a Family Liaison Officer, connecting parents with a wide range of local services and multi-agency partners in the Blackpool community.
* Contribute to the school's safeguarding and child protection procedures, acting as a crucial first point of contact for concerns.
* Conduct home visits and meetings, fostering strong parental engagement to build an effective home-school partnership.
* Organise and facilitate workshops or information sessions for parents on relevant topics.
About You
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the challenges facing families in a secondary school setting. You will be a skilled communicator with a compassionate, non-judgemental approach.
Essential qualifications and experience:
* A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in a relevant field such as social work, youth work, or pastoral care.
* Proven experience in a similar school support worker or family support role.
* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
* Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
* A resilient and proactive nature, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
