Caledonian Concepts proudly organise the most iconic mass participation events in Scotland including the Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running, the Etape Loch Ness cycle sportive and the Inverness Half Marathon. In 2024, 19,880 participants attended the three events raising an estimated £1 million for charity.
The events inspire activity amongst all ages, demographics and ability. The company was acquired in 2024 by London Marathon Events and will continue to be run from Inverness, retaining its unique heritage and identity.
Role Title: Senior Event Operations Manager, Caledonian Concepts
This exciting and newly developed role within the company will work closely with the founders of the company Malcolm and Caroline Sutherland and will be part of a closely knit team that understands the needs of the local community in the delivery of the events.
You will be key to the delivery of the running and cycling events, and look to introduce new events to the portfolio, delivering the operational planning to ensure the events meet their objects within the budget.
You will work closely with the procurement team and the finance team at London Marathon Events to look to expand the events within the available infrastructure of the Highlands.
Ability to build strong working relationships and lead small teams across multiple projects and parallel workstreams
· Engage professionally across a wide range of external stakeholders at SAG’s, local authority meetings and other formal meetings.
· Proven experience in planning and delivering running and cycling mass participation events across a broad range of audiences and abilities.
· Experience in using project management tools
· Previous experience in leading and managing a focused team to ensure best practice is shared across Project Teams.
· Commercially minded with the ability to integrate sponsorship requirements in to events
· Ability to work under pressure during the build up to and delivery of large events
· Ability to assess and plan for the key safety requirements for running and cycling events and impacts on communities hosting the events
· Managing multiple contractors and suppliers to plan and deliver events.
· Applicants will require a full driving licence.
