Assistant Management Accountant

We are looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Financial Management team.
Key Requirements
* Experience in using computer systems such as Oracle Financials.
* NHS experience.
* AAT part-qualified or equivalent, or actively studying toward full AAT qualification, or significant role experience.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, especially working with non-finance colleagues.
* Strong analytical skills, eye for detail and accuracy, especially using Excel spreadsheets and other systems.
* Good time management skills, working to tight deadlines.
Main Duties
* Provision of a high quality financial advice and business support service to the division.
* Financial management reporting and budgetary control across the division.
* Supporting Finance Manager in monthly close-down of the general ledger system.
* Use of a computerized ledger system and Microsoft Office packages to provide analysis to department managers and budget holders.
* Assisting in production of income and/or expenditure budgets, monthly management reports, and reconciliations.
Person Specification
* Able to plan own work to meet monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
* Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with finance and non-finance staff.
* Experience of working in a finance department.
* Experience in assisting in the production of income and/or expenditure annual budgets and monthly management reports.
* Experience of spreadsheet, database and computerized ledger applications.
* NHS finance experience.
* Numerate and IT aware, with good keyboard skills.
* Able to undertake initial investigation and resolution of expenditure variances.
* Able to analyse and manipulate large volumes of complex data into meaningful information and produce summaries for review by the Management Accountant.
* Knowledge of the NHS financial regime and relevant legislation and guidance.
* Flexibility to work within the divisional team or across teams as required.
* Reliable and committed to delivering targets and achieving outcomes.
