Housekeeper/Nanny, Reading RG2 (32 hrs/week) – May 2025 Start A warm, friendly, and welcoming family in Reading are seeking a caring and experienced Housekeeper/Nanny to join their household starting in May 2025. The role will involve a mix of childcare and household duties, supporting the care of their 9 year old son whilst ensuring the home remains tidy and organised. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), although this is not a requirement. The position is for 4 days a week, 9am – 5pm, offering a flexible work environment with the option to choose the days and between self-employed or employed status. If employed, this is a temp-to-perm role, with the potential for a permanent position based on mutual satisfaction. Childcare duties will include: Occasional school pickups. Preparing and cooking meals for their son. Engaging in supervised playtime and educational activities. Creating a nurturing environment to support the child’s growth and development. Household duties will include: Daily cleaning and tidying of the home, including organising rooms, toys, and personal items. Laundry, ironing, and putting away clothes. Loading and unloading the dishwasher, vacuuming, mopping, and general upkeep of the home. Managing bins, recycling, food shopping, and accepting deliveries. Assisting with the care of their 2 cats and 1 dog when needed. Additional Duties: Occasional evening babysitting, which will be paid as overtime at £15 per hour. Any babysitting will be arranged with plenty of notice and by mutual agreement. The role offers a salary starting at £15/hour, depending on experience. Mileage for any driving will be paid at 45p per mile. The ideal candidate will be reliable, compassionate, and trustworthy, with a genuine passion for both childcare and maintaining a well-run home. A driver with their own car is required for occasional school runs and errands. Unfortunately, they cannot accommodate applicants who have their own children.
