Description Community Care Assistant Peffermill Industrial Estate Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro-rata for part-time) Hours: 24 per week, 52 weeks This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Assistive Living Team, within ATEC24. ATEC24 provides equipment, and telecare services to citizens across Edinburgh. The Assistive Living Team is focussed on the implementation of a pro-active approach to equipment and telecare provision/services. The team is responsible for carrying out non-complex assessments and reviews, providing advice and installing equipment. The successful candidate will be part of a small team of CCAs, led by a Senior Occupational Therapist at ATEC24. The post holder will be required to drive a small CEC van, to carry out home visits to citizens living across the city of Edinburgh. The team are currently working in a hybrid capacity; applicants should therefore be flexible to adapt their work location as necessary. The post holder will work within CEC core working hours. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. This should be supplemented with an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care/ HNC/SVQ for Health Support Workers or Occupational Therapy Support. Have previous experience in a range of social care and/ or health settings. Have an understanding of the needs of adult social care service user groups. Have good organisational and practical skills and be flexible and creative in the delivery of the service. Have an up to date knowledge of financial assessments and welfare benefits. Have good communication and listening skills. Be able to contribute and adapt to change. Have a sound knowledge of basic IT systems. Have experience of Manual Handling Techniques.
