Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team at our Measham facility. This is a permanent position offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to work on complex and precise mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
* Assemble, adjust, and set fixtures and mechanical systems of our design, ensuring precision and quality.
* Identify and report snags, assisting in their rectification.
* Conduct testing, load testing, torque testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
* Install machinery, including siting and leveling, at customer sites such as JLR, BMW, Aston Martin, Tesla, and other automotive OEMs.
* Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to high standards of quality and cleanliness.
Qualifications
* Apprentice Level 3 or equivalent in a mechanical engineering subject.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
* Valid driving license with a relatively clean record.
* Possession of own tools.
* Forklift Truck (FLT) license.
* High attention to detail and quality.
Desirable Skills:
* MIG and TIG welding experience.
* CNC and manual machining experience.
* Knowledge of pneumatic systems and electronics.
* MEWP ticket.
Day-to-Day
* Work independently to assemble and test mechanical systems.
* Collaborate with the team to ensure all systems meet quality standards.
* Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning of machinery.
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any issues promptly.
Benefits
* Competitive hourly rate of £18-£20, depending on experience.
* 40-hour work week with potential for bonus payments at the manager's discretion.
* 21 days of annual leave plus statutory holidays, increasing by one day per year after two years of service, up to a maximum of 28 days.
