Hays Health & Safety is working in partnership with a respected international consultancy to recruit an experienced Associate Fire Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, multi-sector design practice delivering fire engineering solutions acrossmercial, residential, transport, and energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead fire engineering design across a range of sectors including buildings, infrastructure, and energy facilities
2. Develop fire strategies, assess fire-related risks, and ensurepliance with UK and international standards
3. Manage multiple projects from concept to delivery, including budgeting and stakeholder engagement
4. Support junior engineers and act as a technical reviewer on project submissions
5. Contribute to tenders and help grow client relationships
The successful candidate:
6. Degree in engineering (ideally fire engineering) or relevant postgraduate qualification
7. 10+ years’ experience in fire engineering, including consultancy and site-based roles
8. Strong knowledge of standards such as BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, EN45545
9. Experience with fire modelling tools ( FDS, PyroSim) is advantageous
10. Working towards Chartered Fire Engineer status
11. Able to obtain UK security clearance
