The Role
As Principal Civil Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading the civil engineering design on a range of development projects
* Providing technical oversight and quality assurance across infrastructure and drainage schemes
* Delivering and reviewing designs associated with S278, S38, S185 and S104 agreements
* Remaining actively involved in design using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WinDes / InfoDrainage or similar
* Acting as a key point of contact for clients, local authorities and project stakeholders
* Supporting work-winning activities and helping grow long-term client relationships
* Assisting with the development, mentoring and line management of engineers within the team
* Working closely with regional leadership to help shape and grow the civils offering in Nottingham
About You
You’ll be an experienced civil engineer with:
* 10+ years’ UK consultancy experience, ideally across residential and mixed-use schemes
* Strong technical capability in drainage and infrastructure design
* A proven track record of delivering projects through planning and detailed design stages
* Confidence managing clients and an understanding of commercial project drivers
* A practical, delivery-focused mindset with a desire to stay engaged in design
* Experience mentoring or managing engineers, or a clear ambition to move further into leadership
* Excellent communication, organisational and presentation skills
What’s on Offer
* Competitive salary and benefits package
* Hybrid working and flexible holiday allowance
* A high level of autonomy and influence over your projects
* The opportunity to help shape and grow a regional civils team
* Exposure to varied, technically interesting projects
* Clear long-term progression within a stable and well-regarded consultancy
This role offers the chance to be part of a growing regional team, with real scope to leave your mark — both technically and professionally — as the business continues to invest in its Nottingham presence
