Senior Engineer – Main Contractor – Central London About the Client Our client is a leading specialist contractor operating across construction, landscaping, and public realm projects throughout the UK. They are recognised for delivering high-quality schemes as a main contractor, with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and collaborative project delivery About the Role As Senior Engineer you will take overall responsibility for the technical delivery of the project, including the management of the engineering team and the effective coordination of construction information throughout all stages. Ensuring works are set out and executed accurately on site in accordance with the approved design, while maintaining robust quality records and technical documentation. Responsibilities * Develop detailed knowledge of all project construction drawings and specifications * Check between design disciplines for clashes, discrepancies etc. * Liaise with design team and supply chain to understand / develop design detailing and material install * Understand and work to construction programme * Carry out material take offs and measures, monitor materials with a particular focus on long lead bespoke items * Produce and manage design release schedule * Produce and monitor drawing register and ensure site teams are working to the latest construction drawings * Manage design process on project design system (Aconex / Conject / 4 Projects) * Implement and manage quality delivery in line with ITP * Develop a detailed understanding of construction methodologies * Manage, supervise and mentor site and junior engineers * Establish and maintain site control * Manage as built and handover documentation * Understand all site HSEQ paperwork (daily briefings, TBT, LOLER, PUWER, inspections etc.) * Be capable of organising tasks and putting operatives to work * Keep accurate site records (photos, diary etc.) Requirements Qualifications & Technical Skills * Relevant professional qualification * SMSTS certification * 3-day First Aid at Work * Appointed Person training * Temporary Works Co-ordinator * Confined Space Awareness * Asbestos Awareness * Proficiency in AutoCAD Skills & Attributes * Working as ‘one team’ across multiple functions to deliver exceptional results for our clients * Detailed technical knowledge of construction methodologies * Good communication abilities Experience * Proven technical abilities and strong organisational skills * Understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental issues relevant to the project environment * Sufficient experience required in construction
