The Role As our Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and positive environment for our pupils. The hours for this role are Monday to Friday from 8.15am until 3.30pm. Working closely with our Inclusion Team and teaching staff, you will help children who need extra support to regulate their emotions and behaviour, ensuring they feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. Key Responsibilities: Provide specialist support to pupils with additional needs, including behavioural, communication, social, sensory, or emotional challenges, using our Therapeutic, Relational Approach. Work collaboratively with teachers to identify and support children who require extra help to manage their emotions and behaviour, fostering a sense of trust and belonging. Lead targeted intervention groups and offer one-to-one support for children who are dysregulated, helping them to develop positive strategies for self-regulation. Contribute to a nurturing school culture where early intervention and personalised support enable every child to flourish. We’re Looking For: Experience of working in a school environment, with an understanding of the needs of primary-aged children. A positive, can-do attitude towards pupil learning and development. Patience, calmness, and consistency when supporting children who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. A respectful and empathetic approach to meeting the individual needs of every pupil. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to different situations. Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a close-knit team. Self-motivation, resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping children succeed.
