Responsibilities
The role will involve:
1. To be the first point of contact for in-depth engineering fault finding and repairs on specific vehicle types.
2. Carry out diagnostic tests on a wide range of company vehicles and equipment.
3. Notify the Technical and Systems Manager of faults identified within their area of expertise.
4. Advise the Engineering Manager on technical issues within the garage.
5. Draft reports on the performance and failure of engines, gearboxes, axles, electrics for the Technical Team.
6. Carry out projects/trials on behalf of the Engineering Director/Technical and Systems Manager.
7. Develop and maintain effective communication and relationships with chassis and body manufacturers, DVSA, FTA & Buses.
Qualifications
Requirements:
8. Minimum five years experience OR have an NVQ Level 3 in PSV/HGV (or equivalent qualification)
9. Comprehensive understanding of diagnostic equipment and its applications.
10. In depth technical knowledge of major components fitted to Company fleet.
11. Skilled in the use of IT systems, including Excel, Word and Outlook
12. A full UK driving licence (6 points or less)
13. Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical
