Job Description Job Reference: JH/SP/BCKH Job Title: Personal Assistant Responsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer's representative (Mum) Hours: 5 hours per week Work Pattern: Wednesday's: 3pm – 8pm Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.53 per hour Based at: Employer's own home in Amersham Job Purpose To work one to one with a Child with Pallister Killian Syndrome and a Brain Injury. To support the child with his day to day living, support with personal care and to help develop his quality of life. Main duties: To support with: * Personal care (washing, dressing, brushing teeth etc) * Assisting medication and peg feeding (once properly trained) * On occasions, light household tasks such as cleaning, changing the bed, washing * Transfers whilst in and out of the wheelchair (once trained on manual handling) * Child has a hoist * To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required. Personal Specification * Flexible in the hours and times that you can work. * Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke. * You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety. * Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. * A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer. * You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks. * Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
