Overview
We are looking for two journalists with a range of radio writing, reading and social media skills. You will work as part of a team of journalists driving editorial ambitions and innovation, ensuring we adapt to and serve the changing needs of diverse and underserved audiences. In these roles, you will work as part of a 7-day rota including earlies, lates, and weekends.

In this role, you will have the chance to shape Newsbeat's editorial offer, taking reporting to new audiences in new ways and making impact across the BBC and beyond. You will know what matters to young, diverse audiences and come up with original ways to tell those stories. You will bring in your own stories and present them to listeners and readers in a creative way. You will make stand-out radio for Newsbeat's 15-minute programmes as well as reading and writing bulletins and working on online content. Journalists report around the UK and interview case studies, experts and contributors daily.
Your responsibilities and impact
* Write, report on and read content—including stories and video for the BBC News website and social platforms—underpinned by sound editorial judgement and an excellent understanding of young and diverse audiences.
* Use analytics and data to drive journalism.
* Contribute boundary-pushing ideas for stories and guests.
* Be passionate about engaging 15–24s with national and global news.
* Produce stand-out radio for Newsbeat's 15-minute programmes, read bulletins, and work on online content; report around the UK and interview case studies, experts and contributors daily.
Qualifications and desirable experience
* Experience writing, reporting, and reading content for broadcast and digital platforms.
* Experience using analytics and modern digital trends, formats, platforms and analytics.
* Excellent knowledge of national and global news and current affairs, including politics, sport and entertainment.
* Desirable: Audio production/editing; video production/editing; social media content production; experience of multi-platform reporting (audio and video).
