The Finance and Insight team is looking for a proactive Management Accountant to help deliver accurate, timely financial reporting. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll manage day-to-day accounting, prepare monthly management accounts, complete balance sheet reconciliations, and support budgeting and forecasting — playing a key role in driving informed business decisions. To achieve this, our Management Accountant will: Maintain accurate and complete financial records, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded in the Accounts IQ accounting system. Prepare monthly management accounts in a timely manner, providing clear, insightful analysis and supporting narrative. Assist with consolidation of group results across multiple entities. Own the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring differences are promptly identified, investigated, and resolved. Support the Finance Manager with the annual budgeting process and ongoing re-forecasting cycles, maintaining an up-to-date financial plan to enable accurate and timely forecasts. Support the income reconciliation process, maintaining robust controls to ensure all income recognised in the financial statements is received. Take responsibility for risk management and compliance activities, including preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC, filing regular regulatory reports to the FCA, and reviewing monthly payroll prepared by the People team. Ensure ongoing compliance with legal requirements, accounting standards, and internal policies, staying up to date with relevant industry, regulatory, and compliance developments. Support the annual audit process to ensure efficient delivery, maintaining clear communication and regular updates with internal and external stakeholders. Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and controls, both through enhanced Excel models and better utilisation of functionality within the accounting system. Contribute to ad-hoc projects as required, supporting continuous process improvement and the evolving needs of the business as EQ grows. Qualifications and experience: Qualified accountant - CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW. At least one years’ experience post qualification.
