Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on Experience)

Do you have a passion for supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs at a welcoming and well-resourced school in Lytchett Minster.
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to deliver targeted support to students facing emotional and behavioural challenges. You will play a key role in improving outcomes and helping students flourish both academically and personally.
SEMH Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
* Support students with SEMH needs in one-to-one or small group settings.
* Promote positive behaviour and support emotional regulation.
* Assist in implementing individual behaviour and education plans (IEPs).
* Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to ensure holistic support.
* Encourage student engagement and self-confidence in lessons and daily routines.
* Provide a calm and safe space when students feel overwhelmed.
* Record progress and incidents to contribute to individual support strategies.
* Support reintegration of students into full-time learning and school life.
Skills & Requirements for SEMH TA:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs as a SEMH Teaching Assistant.
* CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare
* A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or mental health support is advantageous.
* A calm, understanding, and consistent approach to managing behaviour.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
