This newly created role will suit someone who enjoys leading teams, improving processes, and ensuring strong financial controls across billing and customer accounts. The Role Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Revenue Protection Lead will take ownership of all revenue protection activity within the billing function. You will oversee day-to-day operations as well as longer-term strategyhelping prevent revenue loss, improving internal processes, and ensuring customers are billed accurately and fairly. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, good judgement, and confidence in managing complex cases. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the Revenue Protection team Develop practical plans to reduce revenue loss and strengthen assurance Ensure processes are carried out in line with internal and regulatory expectations Review usage data and customer patterns to identify anomalies Support debt recovery activity and ensure consistency in managing overdue accounts Work with meter reading teams to resolve access issues Update and improve internal procedures with support from other departments Stay informed on industry developments and use insights to shape improvements Support system updates, business initiatives, and wider transformation projects Manage complex cases and disputes, including formal claims Provide reports and updates on risks, trends, and team performance The Individual We are looking for someone with a strong eye for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead and inspire a small team. You will be confident working with data, comfortable managing competing priorities, and adept at communicating with both internal and external stakeholders. Skills & Experience Leadership experience in billing, compliance, revenue assurance, or similar Excellent communication skills Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data Advanced IT skills, particularly with spreadsheets and billing systems Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment Self-motivated with a proactive approach Desirable Experience working in a regulated utility or service-led environment Background in customer-focused financial roles Familiarity with revenue protection best practice Values & Culture Our client is guided by empathy, clarity, integrity, and teamwork.
