Transform Lives Through Better Homes in West Dunbartonshire!
West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking a dedicated Housing Professional to join the Housing Development and Homelessness team as a Senior Housing Development Officer (Better Homes) and lead in delivering our strategic housing priorities.This role is central to coordinating the Local Housing Strategy, managing housing asset strategies, spearheading regeneration initiatives, and ensuring compliance with the Scottish Social Housing Net Zero Standard while enhancing energy efficiency and housing stock conditions.
As a key member of the Housing Development and Homelessness team, you will oversee annual capital expenditure budgets, develop and lead on a number of key housing and regeneration priorities, collaborate with the Scottish Government, Registered Social Landlords, and community stakeholders to deliver sustainable housing solutions that improve housing and regenerate our communities.
Key Responsibilities will include :-
• Leading a number of key workstreams through the implementation and development of the Local Housing Strategy, ensuring alignment with guidance and integration with the Strategic Housing Investment Plan.
• Ensuring compliance with the Social Housing Net Zero Standard.
• Driving housing-led regeneration projects, to create vibrant, sustainable communities.
• Developing and implementing a comprehensive housing asset management strategy, including condition assessments and investment prioritisation.
• Maintain housing stock quality, addressing issues like dampness, mould, and accessibility, while adhering to Scottish Housing Quality Standards.
What We are Looking For?
We are seeking a proactive and skilled housing professional with:
• A Professional Housing Diploma or Honours degree in a relevant discipline.
• Significant senior-level experience in housing development, construction, or regeneration projects.
• Proven success in delivering social housing programmes and managing significant budgets.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong understanding of housing policy, legislation, and procurement practices.
• Ability to innovate, solve complex problems, and deliver results under pressure.
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
