Job Description
Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Product Security Engineer to join our Government Training Systems team in Berkeley, Missouri. The role involves executing our vision and sharing our passion for protecting government training systems, aircraft support equipment, and related products. Responsibilities include providing technical support for product cybersecurity and resiliency engineering across various phases such as requirements, design, analysis, build, test, production, operations, support, and sustainment.
This team’s portfolio includes programs like P-8A Poseidon, F/A-18 Super Hornets/Growlers, F-15 Eagle, MQ-25 Stingray, T-7A Red Hawk, F-22 Raptor, and V-22 Osprey. The candidate must proactively recognize and resolve a wide range of challenges, implementing security controls and requirements per JSIG, DoD RMF, NISPOM, or other security policies as required by customers.
Position Responsibilities:
* Support development, implementation, and sustainment of product security throughout the lifecycle.
* Develop system requirements and architectures for product security to meet certification and customer needs.
* Define security requirements for suppliers and integrate components into Boeing products.
* Coordinate with stakeholders to identify risks and provide security insights and recommendations.
* Support research and development activities related to security.
* Advise customers on maintaining product security and certification, including modifications.
* Build and assess network and software system architectures.
* Configure and ensure security of facilities, equipment, tools, data, networks, and resources.
* Perform cybersecurity engineering for embedded avionics, including threat/risk assessments.
* Establish testing and evaluation plans, including cyber test activities.
* Assess software assurance activities to ensure security pedigree.
* Identify assets, risks, threats, and vulnerabilities per industry and government standards.
* Ensure designs maintain system integrity, availability, confidentiality, and compliance.
* Implement security controls per policies such as JSIG, DoD RMF, NISPOM.
* Work independently with minimal supervision.
This position is onsite in Berkeley, MO.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
* DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g., Security+, CySA+).
* 5+ years in cybersecurity philosophies, requirements, and secure architectures.
* Experience in technical presentations and documentation.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity incident response protocols.
* Experience in product security or cybersecurity concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
* 8+ years in cybersecurity development, secure architectures, and requirements.
* Experience with vulnerability scanning, operating systems (Windows, Linux, UNIX).
* Experience with avionics cybersecurity and component development.
* Security certifications like CISSP are a plus.
* Experience with military aircraft systems, security engineering, and risk management frameworks.
* Software development experience (C/C++, Ada) and understanding of secure coding practices.
