This well-regarded Academy in Watford is seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Head Teacher to join its Senior Leadership Team from September 2026.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of raising attainment and driving school improvement, with a particular strength in English or Mathematics.
The Role:
1. Work closely with the Head of School and SLT to shape and implement whole-school priorities.
2. Lead teaching and learning across your specialist subject (English or Maths), driving standards and developing curriculum excellence.
3. Support, coach, and develop staff through effective line management and professional development initiatives.
4. Contribute to the strategic leadership of the Academy, promoting a culture of ambition, inclusion, and high expectations.
5. Model outstanding classroom practice and inspire both staff and pupils through collaborative leadership.
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Experienced classroom practitioner with QTS and substantial KS2 or secondary leadership experience.
7. Proven success in improving outcomes within English or Maths.
8. Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and data-led improvement.
9. Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
10. A positive and solutions-focused leader who motivates others and leads by example.
