GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join a school in Derby. This role provides an excellent opportunity to manage classes in the absence of teachers, maintain a positive learning environment, and support pupils’ progress. Role Overview: As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will supervise classes across the school, following lesson plans provided by teachers. You will ensure pupils remain engaged, behave appropriately, and continue their learning during staff absences. As a Cover Supervisor, you will: Supervise and manage pupils across various subjects and year groups. Follow lesson plans provided by the teaching staff. Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement in the classroom. Support pupils’ learning and wellbeing during lessons. Report on pupil progress and any behavioural issues. Uphold high standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare. Requirements for Cover Supervisor: Experience working with children or in a school setting is desirable. Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom situations. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
