We are looking for an experienced midwife with a passion for intrapartum care, to provide inspirational leadership and management for our central delivery suite in James Cook University Hospital. The individual must have excellent organisational and leadership skills, a strong commitment to midwifery practice and safety. The post holder will work in association with the multi‑disciplinary team, allied health professions, anaesthetic, surgical, emergency care and other associated teams in line with patient safety and quality agenda.
The post holder will promote the positive image of the clinical area and the Trust by being a role model, having a clear vision and using direct clinical leadership to ensure an excellent patient experience and a ward that promotes both clinical and operational excellence. The post holder will hold responsibility for the central delivery suite team with support from the Band 8A Matron, Deputy Head of Midwifery and Head of Midwifery. The post holder will ensure they lead and manage the delivery suite to ensure safe, high quality, evidence‑based midwifery care is delivered to patients whilst respecting and involving families and carers as partners in care. In conjunction with the senior management team, the post holder will manage the budget for the ward to ensure the best use of resources. They will act as a champion for professional accountability and standards, ensuring that professional practices are in line with the requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and Trust Policy.

After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in‑house and externally provided courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
