Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper and Payroll Assistant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate bookkeeping and timely payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and assisting with various accounting functions. This position is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of accounting and payroll software, who is eager to contribute to the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Responsibilities
* Process bookkeeping for various clients and ensuring accurate records are kept.
* Handle accounts payable tasks, including processing invoices and managing vendor payments.
* Conducing bank reconciliations.
* Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
* Maintain employee records, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
* Assist in the preparation of payroll reports and documentation as required.
* Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting and reconciliation.
* Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure compliance.
Skills
* Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is essential.
* Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and payroll systems.
* Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with employees and team members.
