About the Role
As an Shift Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring maximum availability and reliability of production equipment across a modern manufacturing facility.
Working within a highly automated environment, you will support operational performance through reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and equipment reliability projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Ensure maximum equipment reliability through:
o Rapid response to breakdowns
o Effective fault diagnosis and repairs
o Preventative maintenance strategies
* Maintain compliance with:
o Health & Safety procedures
o Environmental & Quality standards
o LOTO (Lock Out, Tag Out)
o Permit to Work systems
o Statutory requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies including:
o TPM
o RCM
o RCA
o PDCA
o 5S
* Lead and contribute to reliability and efficiency improvement projects
* Collaborate closely with Operations teams to support a high-performance manufacturing culture
* Maintain accurate maintenance records within CMMS/SAP systems
* Support engineering and capital investment projects to ensure delivery within:
o Budget
o Quality standards
o Project timelines
Experience & Key Attributes Essential
* Minimum BTEC/NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
* Strong multi-skilled engineering background with an electrical bias
* Experience within a manufacturing or production environment
* Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
* Good IT literacy including MS Office and maintenance systems
Desirable
* Experience within FMCG, Food, Beverage, or high-speed manufacturing environments
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
Additional Skills
* Ability to manage contractors and issue permits safely
* Strong understanding of risk assessments and safe systems of work
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to support and train colleagues
