The Senior Planner shall support various projects and business departments through the preparation and progressing of project schedules, ensuring that schedules are prepared and progressed to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures and standards. This will typically involve the preparation, review, analysis and update of project schedules as well as providing occasional support to schedule development for key proposals. Planning support to project management and proposals management personnel Review and maintain planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) Review and maintain baseline project schedule using appropriate scheduling software (Primavera P6) Monitor and control planning activities Liaise with engineering and procurement functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements Analyse and prepare copies of project schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements Analyse and prepare copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements. Review and analyse updates to project manpower requirements Assess and communicate the impact of change notifications on project schedules Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules Participate in schedule risk analysis as required Practical applied experience in planning and scheduling Proven experience in the use of Primavera P6 planning software Knowledge of spreadsheets and databases Team player with a willingness to share ideas with multi-disciplinary team members Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Good numerical, analytical and literacy skills with a strong attention to detail Possess good planning and organisational skills and be accustomed to meeting tight deadlines
