The Role
We’re looking for a German-speaking Commercial Manager to manage a portfolio of high-value clients in the energy trading sector in German speaking countries. You’ll be the primary commercial contact, responsible for driving revenue, identifying client needs, and delivering innovative Trayport solutions that help our clients succeed.
This is a consultative sales and account management role focused on growing existing relationships and uncovering new opportunities within your portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of prospective and active clients within the energy trading sector, serving as their primary commercial contact.
* Drive revenue growth by aligning Trayport’s solutions with client needs and long-term objectives.
* Build trusted, consultative relationships by understanding each client's goals, challenges, and competitive landscape.
* Proactively identify opportunities within existing accounts and generate leads through strategic account development.
* Act as a strong internal advocate for your clients, collaborating with product, technical, and leadership teams to deliver impactful solutions.
* Lead the full sales cycle for new products and clients, including pipeline management, commercial discussions, and contract negotiations.
* Expand engagement within client organisations by increasing product adoption, venues, and trader participation.
* Build and maintain a senior-level network within the client base through meetings, presentations, industry events, and Trayport-hosted engagements.
* Represent the voice of the client in internal strategy discussions, contributing to long-term planning and product development.
The Person
* Fluent in English and German is essential
* Sales Acumene and Strong Negotiation skills
* Knowledge of the energy markets and customer base

* Influencer – role is one of a trusted advisor where client and Trayport (at senior levels), value your knowledge and judgment and will act on it. Knowledge of trading market structures. Includes market dynamics and an interest in the mechanics and operations of trading and clearing.

* Strong technical skills and curiosity about details of solutions for clients.
* Strong knowledge of trader, exchange and inter dealer broker client base. Ability to influence and drive Trayport’s strategic and product plans on behalf of your client/prospect base.
* Strong ability to develop and nurture strong working relationships with ‘C’ level / senior managers / decision makers.
