An exciting opportunity has arisen within Clinical Haemsotasis and Thrombosis. As a dedicated Haemophilia Comprehensive Care Centre, you will have access to clinical experts that are happy and willing to support you with your career journey in our department. Ideal Candidates will need extensive experience of working with Haemophilia patients and have a good undergoing of the advances of gene therapy within this condition.

Clinical responsibilities include outpatient clinics, providing support and education, triaging via a nurse led telephone advisory service and ensuring the highest possible standard of patient care.

We are seeking a dynamic individual with proven experience in a senior clinical leadership role, who can demonstrate a track record of enhancing both patient and staff experience within a complex healthcare environment. Your ability to drive service improvements while maintaining a strong focus on patient-centred care is essential. Main duties of the job

1. Provide clinical leadership and supervision to the Haemophilia nursing team
2. Clinically lead nursing care throughout the various patient pathways
3. Provide education and support throughout the junior doctor rotation
4. Provide education to the nursing teams, responsible for the education pathway of staff
5. Enable collaboration across the multi-disciplinary teams through complex decision making
6. Manage risk thus enabling the services to meet changing population,
patient, and service delivery needs.
7. Transformation, quality and improvement initiatives to develop the services
8. Deliver Gene therapy to Haemophilia B patients
9. Provide inpatient and outpatient teaching sessions

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We are looking for a motivated, ambitious, and flexible nurse—ideally with experience in Haemophillia and delivering gene therapy.

The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership throughout the patient pathway and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team on service transformation, quality improvement, and innovation initiatives.

You will also run nurse-led clinics and actively contribute to multidisciplinary clinics, audits, and operational meetings. Opportunities to participate in teaching and research are strongly encouraged.

Applicants must have experience in leading nursing and clinical services, with a proven commitment to prioritising safety, quality, and patient experience in all aspects of care.

The successful candidate will work autonomously but will have the support of the team of consultants, clinical nurse specialists, advanced nurse practitioners and matron.

10. Advanced clinical assessment and history taking
11. Ability to draw on a diverse range of knowledge in their decision making to determine evidence based interventions and actively monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
12. Advanced clinical reasoning skills to comprehensively assess patients
13. Experience in independently facilitating Nurse-led clinics
14. Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of speciality with a wide range of approaches to the management of photodermatology patients

Desirable criteria

15. Ability to develop working relationships locally, regionally and nationally
16. Support junior nursing workforce
17. Organised study days/teaching sessions for both inpatient and outpatient nurses

18. Broad clinical experience relevant to the post, including specialist skills and experience working as a CNS in the speciality.
19. Ability to lead and work within the Nursing, medical and other professionals allied to medicine
20. Experience of teaching patients and staff and others including health promotion and prevention orientation
21. Possess the ability to identify and implement systems to promote their contribution and demonstrate the impact of advanced level nursing to the healthcare team and the wider health and social care sector
22. Evidence of performing audit and research and dissemination of findings
23. Created SOP
24. Delivered gene therapy in Haemophilia B patients

25. Demonstrates evidence of continuously contributing to education and teaching
26. Worked in London Haemophilia Network
27. Participated in a Haemophilia peer review

28. A Masters level qualification/in progress or equivalent experience
29. Haemophilia experience
30. Mentorship
31. Advanced physical assessment skills

Desirable criteria

32. Non-medical prescriber
33. Completed Care Competency course
